Les Evêques de la Province Ecclésiastique de YAOUNDE, assistés de leurs proches collaborateurs, ont tenu, du 5 au 8 mars 2012, leur 1ère assemblée ordinaire annuelle au Centre d’Accueil Notre Dame du Perpétuel Secours de MBALMAYO, sur la réception (receptio) de l’Exhortation Apostolique Post-synodale Africae Munus de sa Sainteté le Pape Benoît XVI, sous la présidence effective de Son Excellence Monseigneur Adalbert NDZANA, Evêque de MBALMAYO et Président en exercice de la Conférence Episcopale Provinciale de YAOUNDE (CEPY).
La séance d’ouverture s’est déroulée en présence des autorités civiles, administratives et militaires du département du NYONG ET SO’O. Le président de la CEPY, après avoir souhaité la bienvenue aux Evêques, a relevé l’importance pour la Province de s’approprier l’Exhortation Africae Munus afin d’en dégager des perspectives pastorales.
Les travaux proprement dits ont été effectués en deux temps :
- La présentation de l’Exhortation par l’Abbé Joseph Marie NDI OKALLA, Vice-recteur de l’Université Catholique d’Afrique Centrale et Expert du Synode.
- L’audition des rapports des diocèses sur la réception de cette Exhortation.
De fait, Africae Munus restera une charte pour toutes nos Eglises diocésaines.
Les journées ont été rythmées par la récitation commune du bréviaire et les célébrations eucharistiques avec la participation fervente des fidèles. Les Évêques ont prié particulièrement pour les victimes de la catastrophe de MPILA -BRAZZAVILLE, manifestant ainsi leur compassion et leur solidarité à la nation congolaise.
Par ailleurs, ayant été informés des actes de vandalisme et de profanation perpétrés dans les nuits du 24 au 25 février 2012 et du 03 au 04 mars 2012, dans les paroisses Saints Philippe et Jacques de NGOULEMAKONG dans le Diocèse d’EBOLOWA et Saint Pie X de MENGUEME dans le Diocèse de MBALMAYO, les Évêques s’en indignent profondément et condamnent avec fermeté ces actes sacrilèges. Ils en appellent à la vigilance de tous ainsi qu’au respect des personnes et des édifices sacrés.
Au terme des travaux, les Evêques de la CEPY ont exprimé leur profonde gratitude à Son Excellence Monseigneur Adalbert NDZANA et à tous ses fidèles pour la parfaite organisation de la session, l’accueil chaleureux et la grande générosité ayant favorisé une atmosphère propice à la prière et au travail.
La prochaine session de la CEPY se tiendra à MBALMAYO du 05 au 08 Novembre 2012 et portera sur l’Année de la foi proclamée par le Pape Benoît XVI.

FINAL COMMUNIQUE
The bishops of the YAOUNDE Ecclesiastical Province, together with their close collaborators, held their first annual ordinary session, at our Lady of Perpetual Help Center of MBALMAYO, from the 5th to the 8th March 2012 on the reception (receptio) of the post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation Africae Munus of his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, under the presidency of his lordship Bishop Adalbert NDZANA of MBALMAYO, President of the Provincial Episcopal Conference of YAOUNDE (PECY).
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of civil, administrative and military authorities. The president of the Provincial Episcopal conference, after welcoming bishops, insisted on the importance to appropriate ourselves the document Africae Munus , in order to draw from it all pastoral perspectives.
The works themselves were carried out in two moments:
- The presentation of the Exhortation by Fr Joseph-Marie NDI OKALLA, Vice Rector of the Catholic University of Central Africa and synod expert
- The listening of reports from the various dioceses of the PECY on the reception of that Exhortation.
In fact, Africae Munus shall remain a Charta of our Churches.
Working days were punctuated by the communal recitation of the breviary and daily Eucharistic celebrations with a fervent participation of the faithful. Bishops prayed specially for the victims of the recent sad events in MPILA -BRAZAVILLE, thus manifesting their compassion and solidarity to the Congo nation.
Having learned about acts of vandalism and profanation that occurred in the nights of the 24th to the 25th February 2012 and of the 3rd to the 4th march 2012, respectively in saints Philip and James parish NGOULEMAKONG in EBOLOWA diocese and in Saint Pius X parish MENGUEME in MBALMAYO diocese, the Bishops are deeply taken aback and highly condemn these sacrilegious acts. They are calling on vigilance and respect of sacred places from all.
At the end of the session, the bishops of the Provincial Episcopal Conference deeply thank his lordship Bishop Adalbert NDZANA and all the faithful for the perfect organization of the session, for the warm welcome and for their great generosity which favoured a good atmosphere of prayer and work.
The next session of the Provincial Episcopal Conference shall take place in MBALMAYO as from the 5th to the 8th of November 2012 and will be on the Year of Faith proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI.
